Mobile Solar Advice Across Scotland

We advise van, motorhome, caravan, park home and lodge owners across Scotland. Here's what we take into account in each part of the country, because solar in Glasgow isn't the same as solar on Skye.

Where we help

Our advice and quotes are free wherever you are in Scotland. Where you'd like the work done for you, we install through MCS-certified partners. Tell us your postcode when you get in touch and we'll confirm what's available near you.

Glasgow & the Clyde Valley

Our Scottish team can be reached on a Glasgow (0141) number. In the city, vans and motorhomes are often kept on streets or driveways between trips. Where a vehicle is parked next to tall tenements or trees, shading can cut solar output, so a DC-DC charger or mains hook-up charging often matters as much as panel size.

Edinburgh & the Lothians

Owners in and around Edinburgh often use their vans for weekend trips into the Borders and the Highlands rather than full-time living. That usually points to a modest, well-sized system, or a portable power station that can also come indoors, instead of a large fitted battery bank.

Stirling, Falkirk & the Trossachs

With Loch Lomond and the Trossachs close by, many trips here are short and frequent. Wooded campsites and lochside pitches can be shaded for much of the day, so we look carefully at portable panels you can move into the sun, alongside alternator charging on the drive in.

Perth & Perthshire

Perthshire is home to many caravan and lodge parks set among woodland. For park homes and lodges, the roof direction, pitch and nearby trees decide where panels can go. Park rules may also apply, so we suggest checking with the site operator before anything is fitted.

Dundee, Angus & Fife

East-coast routes can be drier and brighter than the west, which helps solar, but sea air along the coast is hard on metal fittings. We recommend corrosion-resistant mounting hardware and well-sealed cable entry points for vehicles and lodges kept near the shore.

Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire

Long summer days in the north-east suit solar well, but winter daylight is short. For year-round touring or living aboard, we usually plan around winter rather than summer, with enough battery capacity and a second charging source so you are not left short in December.

Inverness & the Highlands

Routes like the North Coast 500 take many motorhomes far from hook-up points for days at a time. For Highland touring, off-grid capacity is the priority: a lithium battery sized for your fridge and devices, a DC-DC charger for driving days, and panels to top up when the sun appears.

Fort William, Lochaber & Argyll

The west coast is famously wet, and cloud cover reduces solar output for much of the year. Here we focus on realistic expectations, efficient 12V appliances and alternator charging, with panels as a valuable top-up rather than the only source of power.

The Islands

If you live on, or regularly take a vehicle to, the Western Isles, Orkney, Shetland or the Inner Hebrides, ferry crossings and remote stops make dependable off-grid power especially valuable. Salt-laden wind also makes robust fixings and sealed connections important.

Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway and the Borders

The south-west and the Borders have plenty of rural caravan sites and holiday lodges, some well away from mains supply. For off-grid lodges and static caravans, we look at battery storage for evenings, safe battery placement and ventilation, and whether panels can sit on a roof or a ground frame.
