We'll explain the repayment terms clearly in writing before you agree to anything, and there's no obligation to take finance because you've asked for a quote.
0% VAT on solar panels and batteries
VAT is currently 0% on the installation of solar panels and batteries in homes, until March 2027. The relief is tied to residential property and to the installation itself, so whether it applies depends on what you have and how the work is done.
- Touring vans and motorhomes: kit for a vehicle is not normally covered.
- Park homes and lodges: it may apply where the property is someone's home. It depends on how the property is used.
- DIY kits: buying equipment to fit yourself is not the same as an installation, so standard VAT usually applies.

Grants: what does and doesn't apply in Scotland
The Scottish heat pump grant does not cover solar
Scotland's home heating grant is for heat pumps and similar heating systems. It does not cover solar panels or batteries, so be wary of anyone suggesting otherwise.
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is England & Wales only
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme supports heat pumps and biomass boilers in England and Wales. It isn't available in Scotland, and it doesn't cover solar panels.
Scottish Government-backed support
Scottish Government-backed grants and loans may be available for some homes, subject to eligibility. Vehicles are not normally eligible. Tell us about your property and we'll check what applies to you.
Selling spare electricity from a home
If a park home or lodge has grid-connected solar, you may be able to get paid for electricity you export through the Smart Export Guarantee, offered by electricity suppliers. Terms vary by supplier, and eligibility can depend on the installation being certified. We install through MCS-certified partners.
